About Me.
Well... I am Lucy, as you read on the home page I had my first two terrapins from January 2007 and since then have been hooked.
After trying to figure out why my terrapins scutes were shedding, I eventually ended up seeing a vet for something that was perfectly normal, 2 months later, The Terrapin Tank was born. Obviously at first the site was extremely basic but as the site grew and our first forum was launched in April 2007, I met people with invaluable knowledge, the site has been building up since then.
My experience rapidly changes as I administrated the forum over the next year, I became involved with a local Reptile Rescue centre and for 9 months I took over an existing rescue specifically for terrapins and ran it from within my own house with the busiest days including me being the sole carer to 74 terrapins. Unfortunately I became ill and have had to spend 6 months recovering from this so I am currently down to just the 1 terrapin but I am still dedicated to helping people learn more.
Unfortunately, I can no longer take in terrapins and for the moment whilst watching my health can not be involved in rescue or rehoming operations but hopefully I can provide the place others can safely do this through the forum.
